Overall, despite some missteps and goofy moments, from PART 2 onward the historical range it covers, the breadth of thought in its interpretation and exposition, and the quality of its video production make this series—among the videos built from edited anime footage known to us at present—a comparatively good introduction to Japanese animation criticism / otaku culture studies / otaku culture criticism.
